Dorian Gray, day 1

"Of all the people in the world the English have the least sense of the beauty of literature" -Oscar Wilde in The Picture of Dorian Gray.

This is a bold statement coming from an Irish author. It is by one of his characters but still is a profound statement to make about a country that has produced some of the greatest writers in human history, Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, John Lennon, Paul MaCartney, etc.

I enjoy this book so far and find it to be incredible writing but four chapters in and I am still wondering where the story is going? I know that the picture ages and Dorian Gray does not but that is not a sufficient plot. It seems like a mystery but that is just because I have not seen a firm plot yet.

What if I repeat Blog title posts?

Right now I am listening toe Oscar Widle's "A Picture of Dorian Gray" on audiobook. A book that I have wanting to read for a long time. A great Irish writer. I have finished "Slaughter House Five". It is a phenomenal book and the way that Ethan Hawke read it added to the joy of reading the book. He had a slow and dream like voice that added to the half conscious like state that the book takes place in.

I have started following two other blogs and posted on one. Hopefully I will get some followers.
